“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:7)
Where is your hope today? If your hope is resting only in men, or governments, or programs‑‑no matter how worthy‑‑you really have not much hope to live for.
If however your hope is in God, and you will trust Him, He will be a refuge from the stormy tempest and a hiding place from the storms of life.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.“
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:7)
Trusting in the LORD , Hoping in the LORD.
Relying and having confidence, that doing so results in blessings.
Hoping in the LORD: To hope for something means that we want it to happen. Do we want what God wants for us?
Jeremiah, the prophet of old, was right when he wrote, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord” because when we are trusting, relying on God to do what we can’t and while we are hoping, wanting what God wants in our circumstances, then God, while He is “working things together for good” will give us the “peace that surpasses our understanding.”
A Greek Philosopher, Thales, was said to have written: “The most universal thing is hope, for hope stays with those who have nothing else.”
Thales, an old philosopher made his point in that there are times when hope is the only thing that remains when everything else is gone.
Hope in God is not wishful thinking but is based on the sure and certain promises of God.
I had a dear Friend and wise Brother, Louie Hebert who would often say when situations arose that gave appearance of uncertainty in our view of why and what do we do?
Louie would turn and smile and say, “ Don’t sweat everything is filtered down through God’s hands before it reached you. Trust God to give you victory and see you through it, He is faithful.”Hope is in Christ Jesus, and He is alive forever more.
“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
(Isaiah 49:31)
Whatever you’re facing today, whatever has brought you down, have hope in God who loves you and trust Him , take His hand and walk with Him as He lifts you up and carries you through into a good place. Trust Him, He is faithful.
