‘When Prayer Fills The Cracks’

“O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your Name, and give success to Your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” Now I was cup-bearer to the king.” (Nehemiah 1: 11)

History had shown that a strong wall doesn’t save “unless the Lord watches over the city”
(Psalm 127:1).

As Nehemiah and the people worked to rebuild the walls in Jerusalem, God was working through opposition building their dependent faith in His power rather than their It the ‘opposition that got Nehemiah to preach, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome”
(Nehemiah 4:14)

Yes, it’s true that faith is the “substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.”
(Hebrews 11:1). Yes it It is God who gives it to us, it is a gift from God.
(Ephesians 2:8).

However, it is God that tests, refines, and strengthens that faith and He uses circumstances and situations like fires of difficulty, adversity, opposition, and suffering.

The Bible  teaches us that we only really learn to “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7) when we must trust what is “not seen” more…..than what is seen.

This is why all at what appears to be inefficient trials and labor of our lives are never wasted in God’s economy.

If you’ve ever worked at building a brick  wall, but two things I learned in doing it were, making sure you have enough mortar and enough water, and having your trowels ready to mix and slather onto the bricks. Without enough water, the mixture becomes inconsistent and weak.

The same in our daily lives, without the watering through our prayers, remembering the Lord at every turn, our labor and our spirit becomes dry and frail.

Be encouraged that in the midst of the  fire, in the stirring of the wind  and in the rumbling ground you walk on, our God is busy at work, building “the tested genuineness of our faith,” which He counts as “more precious than gold” (1 Peter 1:7).

It’s in the trials that we receive more prosperity, but the valuable lesson to always “remember the Lord.”
Remember, He us “for you and not against you

It’s always a good idea  in your prayers to check for cracks in your spiritual foundation before you leave the house. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we need the living waters to fill in the cracks from the dryness of this world.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
(Psalm 139:23-24).

Nehemiah understood that without vision, without wisdom, without resources, without timing, without help from God his efforts were futile, but he believed that all these needs could be had whenever He sought the God because “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
