“Pray continually, Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,”
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people,
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
“Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.”
Daniel says in Chapter 9:18, “We do not ask because we deserve help, but because You are so merciful.”
Interesting, how we often come to God through our prayers to Him with numerous “asks” and a few thanks for what He gives us. “We do not ask because we deserve help, but because You are so merciful.” (9:18)
Mercy is defined simply as not getting what we deserve. Thank God that He has coupled His grace that makes us deserving, because of His doing, His own righteousness. We have communion with God because He takes pleasure in us coming as children of God before a loving , forgiving, merciful and gracious Father. We do so through our prayers, acknowledging His authority, power to answer our prayers according to His will for our lives.
We need prayer with God like our bodies need water, food and oxygen to live.hen we pray our prayers become like a key to the heart of God. Prayer is the only way i can develop a real and personal relationship with God. There is nothing we can’t pray about. There is nowhere we can’t pray. Yes, even in a library we can pray within our hearts; in fact the Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing”
Above all, pray with sincerity, honor, and humbleness before our Almighty God. “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results” (James 5:16).
I find that the more we bring prayer into our life, the more life in Christ brings many people and opportunities to pray and yes, especially those people we don’t know. We might not know them but God does, and I believe He manifests Himself through these open doors. People outside the faith want to see evidence that God is here, prayer opens that door.
Thank You Jesus that You have made a way by tearing down the veil between we sinners and a Holy God. Help us to be good stewards of this privilege of prayer and bring opportunities to us that we can take them by the hand and:
