God loves people! Especially those who come to Him that are in Need of His Love and Grace. God can bring to you today, right now a Revival into your soul. Who else do we have that knows the answers of the present and the questions into the future?
It’s amazing how the God who created the heavens and the earth would make Himself available to anyone who calls upon His Name. To him who is ‘lowly in spirit’.
It seems so often I meet people who have either ‘given up’ or have been thinking about it. We live in a world that places such emphasis on ‘personal high esteem’. Maybe, if we just ‘think’ ourselves into feeling better, it will happen. The problem with this kind of thought is that it is all dependent upon what we do for ourselves. God is the only one who can answer the tough questions and decisions in the present, with an eye towards eternity.
“For this is what the high and lofty One says — He who lives forever, whose Name is Holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
The first thing I see here is that God is bigger than whatever is bringing us or keeping us down. He is the ‘High and Lofty One’. As big as Good is, He desires to come to His creation and help at any time, any place, any hour, any second.
The next thing I see here is that God is Alive! “He lives forever” With our conditional life on this earth, it is wise to know someone who holds the very breath of life. Jesus is the Way God gives those who call upon Him Eternal Life. He will not turn one person away.
Next, He lives in a real place! “I live in a high and holy place” Jesus say’s that He stands at the door of our hearts and knocks to enter in and live within us.
But, not only does God live, and lives in a real place we call heaven, but He desires to live within anyone who needs Him and is unable to help himself. “But also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit” Another version reads: “But I am with those who are crushed and humble” In other words, you have come to the point in your life where it can’t get much worse, without hope of things getting better.
It is the consistent Nature of God to tend to His creation. After all, He made you with a purpose. Most important, He made you for His pleasure; why wouldn’t He want to meet you and help you in your time of need?
Finally, I see in this passage that this Living God, who dwells in a real place, desires to do a real work in and through your life, especially in our broken times. “To revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.” I really like this paraphrase of this scripture: “And what I do is put new spirit in them, get them up and on their feet again.”
God is a loving God and a God of Second and Third and Fourth chances! His crown is Grace and grace is getting what we don’t deserve. If you are serious with God today and come to Him with a humble and contrite heart, He will not turn you away. The Bible says that “Come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord, though your sins are red as scarlet they shall be as white as snow….if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” God is ready right now to give you a brand new start, a new spirit, He is ready to pick up your drooping hands and shoulders, and get you back up on your feet again!
I guarantee you, you cannot and will not find the answers your searching for in the present and questions regarding your future within the ruins of the logic of this world. But, if you could look up and believe the Living God who has what you need today. Come to Him, why don’t you ask Jesus, He knows the answers. He is the Alpha, the Omega. The beginning and the End.
