Nothing but the Blood of Jesus

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood”   Revelation 1:5

Today is Saturday, February 16, 2013,  and what a beautiful warm and breezy day it is!

I just got back from a place called Labcore where they took a vile of my blood in preparation for this coming Wednesday’s kickoff of my chemotherapy treatment.  It was a rather painless procedure attended by a professional who took a total of about 2-3 minutes to find the right place and do his duty.  I began to think about today’s blog and was taken to this passage that says, “Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood”

Thank You Jesus, that I didn’t have to count on myself and my own blood to wash me from all my sins!    My blood, is doing what God has called it to be, and to do , keep this body, physically, alive….. I’m sure that while the man was taking a vile of my blood, that he couldn’t see visibly or know that this blood was different!   This  blood was cleansed by Jesus Himself!   .. my blood has been washed, cleansed, as a result my body, has become a home for the same Jesus that gave up His own blood for me, that I might enjoy the fellowship of His presence in me….all the time, because He has washed me by His own blood!

In the Bible the blood is mentioned  447 times in 375 verses.

In the Old Testament book of Leviticus 17:11 it says that the “The life is in the blood”

So just what does the blood of Jesus do for me, and maybe someone I know who has walked away from God, or doesn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

I encourage you to examine these 7  points and Scripture references and see how they might prove to be an avenue today to pray and ask God according to His Word and by the blood of Jesus how He might bring life to someone you know today, who needs the touch of God, right where they’re at.

I’m reminded of the Centurion who had one of his slaves who was sick and came to Jesus to heal him saying; “Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.   And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him”.

The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof, but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed, for I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man, Go and he goes, and to another, come and he comes, and to my servant, do this, and he does it.’  When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, nor in Israel’

Today, we know people, we have families that are a great distance from where we live.  And yet, we have access by faith through prayer that God can accomplish the same thing He did with this Centurion’s servant.    What was Jesus response?  ‘When Jesus heard it, He marvelled’ at the great faith this man had in Him!    WE, as believer’s know that these things are all true, but do we take the time to exercise our faith and with great expectation and confidence in Jesus, and do it?

Maybe today is the day you set aside some time and pray whichever one of these seven you feel compelled to pray over someone you know, and watch how a window of faith in prayer could open up an opportunity of communication with someone you love, that you haven’t heard from in a while.   Ask God to send His Spirit, by His Word  and through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus.

He is the ‘Faithful Witness’, He can reach the deepest place of that loved one today in a way we could never do.

He is the ‘First Begotten of the dead’,  Only Jesus has the kind of life that can bring someone back to life.

He is the ‘Prince of the kings of this earth’.   Jesus, said that “All authority, power, and dominion has been given unto Me, over things in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth”  Jesus can break any chain of any bondage. Nothing can resist Him.

The Blood of Jesus…….

1. It sanctifies us. (Hebrews 13:12)

2. It cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

3. It makes us complete for every good work. (Hebrew 13:20-21)

4. It brings those who were far away from God near Him. (Ephesians 2:13)

5. It redeems us. (Ephesians 1:7)

6. It justifies us and saves us from wrath. (Romans 5:9)

7. It brings peace and reconciliation to God. (Colossians 1:20)

Which one do you see here is bringing on a heart to lift someone you know in prayer, by the Word of God, through the precious blood of Jesus?

Do you believe that He is able to respond speedily and deliver a relative, a friend out of the darkness of this world and into the marvelous light?

All these thought came across my mind today as my own blood was being drawn for next week.  What a comfort to know that the blood of Jesus has covered these 7 points in my own life, that He has given me eternal life.

I know some people I will be praying for through theses scriptures today, maybe you know some too…..

“Little children, love one another”
